Area Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then found numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state early analysis suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; authorities are currently not informed of any injuries in association with the incident," they stated.
City officials stated they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the community for tips.
A senior official stated the vandalism left him without words and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a gunman targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
