Ukraine has announced the start of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative domestically developed interceptor drone to strengthen its aerial protection systems. The first three manufacturers have begun manufacturing, with 11 more getting ready to set up production lines, Ukrainian military officials announced on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs will be based on a domestically developed technology called “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Iranian-made drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” officials stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of manufacturing as many as 1,000 interceptors daily.

Latest Attack on the Capital Characterized as Calculated

Volodymyr Zelenskyy characterized Russia’s latest attack against Ukraine as “intentional, premeditated and wicked” after six individuals lost their lives and many others injured in a series of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv. Alert systems activated in the capital shortly after midnight on Friday, with Shahed drones quickly heard overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukrainian air defences.

The president stated the country was targeted by hundreds of UAVs and 18 missiles. Those killed were inside their residences in an apartment building on the capital's left bank when it was hit. Numerous of other buildings sustained damage, including the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan.

International Protest After Embassy Damage

The number two oil producer Lukoil announced this past Friday it has been in talks with interested parties regarding its international holdings after last month’s restrictions from Western nations and failure of an agreement with the Gunvor trading house. “Final arrangements will be announced once conclusive negotiations have been reached and the necessary regulatory approvals are secured,” the company commented.

Zelenskyy Plans Visit to Spanish Capital

The Ukrainian leader is scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital, Madrid, next Tuesday to meet with lawmakers following his trip to France, the chamber of deputies disclosed. Zelenskyy will convene with deputies from both chambers of the legislature throughout his stay, the Spanish statement confirmed.
