The Renowned Musician Urges Backing to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to send a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The project hopes to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It has a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The song was recorded following a large-scale benefit event held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby features a selection of prominent voices from the music world. All were part of the September show, which successfully generated a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of talented individuals. The track showcases a mix of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The group managing the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These donations will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative said. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the area was described as its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of property described as destroyed or damaged.

“In that context, a couple of million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is above all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The track is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a digital service from mid-December.
