Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev won his initial trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from that period of 2023.
Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
Moutet defended 4 early break points in a close deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
