Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics
Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.
At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.
“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.
“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”
Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.
“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” Kebede stated.
“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”
Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.
Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”
Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.
Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”
The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.
Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.
Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has about 450,000 members.
Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.
At the US event, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”
The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
