Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

They have have lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
