Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities report that a former doctor now faces charges for performing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
Authorities have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
