American entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
